Introducing Te Koha Estate: Sun-drenched, luxury accommodation set on 1.6 acres, offering 180 degree views of the Pacific ocean, Piapia beach, Te Ngaere Bay, and the Cavalli Islands.
Te Koha is a Maori word that translates as ‘The Gift’, this is exactly what this space provides: a gift of nature, comfort and tranquillity, in a stunning location that is truly special for your next escape.
Our accommodation provides all the comforts of home, meaning you can relax, because we have provided all the amenities you will need for a great holiday.

We have 2 independent, private properties, a 2 minute walk away from each other. These can be booked separately or together allowing flexible accommodation options for families and friends.
Te Koha main house caters for groups of 8 people in 4 bedrooms, all with en-suite bathrooms.
'The Retreat' a modern, private villa caters for 4 people in 2 bedrooms again each room has a separate ensuite bathroom.

Entertaining
Te Koha is cleverly designed for all seasons with multiple living spaces to entertain and relax both inside and out. Enjoy the atmosphere of the cathedral ceiling in our spacious living area or entertain with friends on the deck.The kitchen has been setup by a chef, so its fully equipped with all the necessities you need, this includes high quality crockery and cutlery.
We have recently upgraded the internet service across both houses to provide all our guests super-fast unlimited internet access, providing speeds of 150Mbps+ to allow you to stream on multiple devices, take video calls and access Zoom meetings if you need to work.

Wake up to views of the sunrise, listen to the waves, look out to the ocean, and enjoy the ever-changing light of the beautiful Bay of Islands.
A short stroll from our private garden gives you access to three stunning sandy beaches where you can safely swim, snorkel, fish, dive, or kayak. There is nearby boat launching in Te Ngaere Bay for access to so many epic fishing and diving grounds. Goto our Explore section to find out more.
It gets better, enjoy sunset drinks on the deck looking over the Pacific ocean and at night, stargaze from our viewing platform. Be amazed by the clarity of the Milky Way and our star studded sky.
The renowned Kauri Cliffs Golf Course with its fine dining restaurant is a 10 minute drive away, and for something more relaxed after a day at the beach, Matauri Bay Fish and Chip shop (5 minute drive) and Whangaroa fishing club is a 16 minute drive.
If the weather changes, make use of our wifi with complimentary unlimited data, or grab a book spend the day relaxing in front of the wood burner.
Our Story
Te Koha estate was originally a boutique lodge catering mainly for international tourists. Since Covid 19 and the closure of our borders, we have reimagined our business for the short term holiday rental market. This means each room on our property has been curated to a world class standard offering every guest the personal space, luxury, comfort and idyllic views that you would expect from a 5 star boutique lodge.
